Devotional: Truth Over Lies W3D3

Wednesday – You Aren’t Loved
Read:  Romans 8:37-39; Romans 5:8

SOAP: Romans 5:8

but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8

One of the most isolating lies we can believe about ourselves is that we are not loved.  Some studies estimate 1 in 5 people feel unloved at a given time[1].

The Almighty God, Creator of the Universe loves YOU.  He loves you so much that even when you were against God, He had His Son suffer and die for you.  God sacrificed His Son, Jesus, so He could have a personal relationship with you.  Jesus’ sacrifice was not dependent upon your behavior or your personality.  It was based exclusively on the character of God.

What comfort can you take in the truth of God’s love for you?

Father God, thank You for Your unfailing love.  Help me reflect on Your love as I think of how You gave Your Son for me.  When I feel unloved, I pray You will remind me of Your great love for me.  Thank You for Your Son, who is the expression of Your love.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.
