Friday –  God Won’t Forgive You for That…

Read: Isaiah 43:25; 1 John 1:9
SOAP: Isaiah 43:25; 1 John 1:9

“I, I am he
who blots out your transgressions for my own sake,
and I will not remember your sins.-Isaiah 43:25

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.-1 John 1:9

Many Christians debate whether there is an “unforgivable sin.”  Even if we believe God will forgive us from our sins, sometimes the enemy will have us believe that we have committed such a heinous crime God will not forget.  Guilt and shame cascade our souls.  Instead of living in freedom, we continue to walk in darkness.  Why strive for godliness if forgiveness is not an option?

God does not deny His children forgiveness. He is a loving Father who desires a relationship with you. Isaiah 43:25 says that He blots out our transgressions and does not remember our sins for His own sake.  Our relationship with Him brings Him delight.

As His children, our responsibility is to confess our sins to our Heavenly Father.  When we do, He is faithful to forgive and cleanse us.  We do not have to worry about God reminding us of our past sins.  When He forgives, He forgives completely.

Father God, thank You for the fullness of Your forgiveness.  Even when I fall short of Your standard and harden my heart to You, I know You are ready to accept me with open arms.  You astound me by Your grace.  Help me live in thankfulness to You.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.
