Wednesday
Read: 1 Thessalonians 5:9-11
SOAP: 1 Thessalonians 5:9-11 “For God has not destined us for wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us so that whether we are awake or asleep we might live with him. Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.”
Paul charges the believers in Thessalonica to “encourage one another” with the Good News of the Gospel. Those who have put their faith in Christ will not face judgment for sin. Christ gave His life on the cross to rescue His children, and we are fully forgiven.
Encouraging a friend in Christ takes just a few minutes of our time each day, but the impact is long lasting. Who do you know that is going through a very difficult season right now? Take time to call that person and pray with them or invite a friend over for coffee and to listen to their story and let them know you care. Point hurting friends to the hope in God’s Word and remind them God is at work in their lives. Discouragement dispels when we stand in the gap for one another.
Lord, thank You for the encouragement of Your Word and for women who take time to speak truth over my life. Show me who I may encourage this week and give me courage to speak up. Amen
