Day 2
God Sets Us Free
Read: John 8:36, Ephesians 1:7-8
SOAP: Ephesians 1:7-8
In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our offenses, according to the riches of his grace that he lavished on us in all wisdom and insight.
There is no one who is righteous. Some of our sins may be more hidden, like lust, covetousness, evil thoughts, or a discontented heart. Perhaps some of our sins are more noticeable like gossip, lying, or hateful speech. There are some sins that do not seem to affect anyone, and there are sins that devastate others. It does not matter what the sin is, all of them deserve death.
God gave us grace instead. Because He is a generous God, He poured grace upon grace on us and forgives us of all our sins. The small and the large, the hidden and the ones that are visible. We are forgiven because of Jesus. We have full, complete redemption through Christ. He forgives all our offenses, covering us with His immeasurable grace.
When shame seeks to destroy us, we can believe our Shame Breaker, who not only sets us free from sin, but from shame and guilt as well. We are freed from death and shame and suffering because of His sacrifice. Praise be to God.
Lord, help me to come to You quickly when I sin because I know You welcome me with open arms. You have freed me from eternal cost of my sin, and I want to be filled with thankfulness and joy. Amen.
