READ: Is. 44:6-8
Besides Me There Is No God
6 Thus says the Lord, the King of Israel
and his Redeemer, the Lord of hosts:
“I am the first and I am the last;
besides me there is no god.
7 Who is like me? Let him proclaim it.[a]
Let him declare and set it before me,
since I appointed an ancient people.
Let them declare what is to come, and what will happen.
8 Fear not, nor be afraid;
have I not told you from of old and declared it?
And you are my witnesses!
Is there a God besides me?
There is no Rock; I know not any.”
SOAP: Is. 44:6
Thus says the LORD, the King of Israel and his Redeemer, the LORD of hosts:
“I am the first and I am the last; besides me there is no god.
There is only one God who loves us enough to sacrifice His one and only Son to save the world. There is only one Jesus who died on the cross for our sins and was resurrected for our salvation. Jesus is God and is with God. There is no other God than Him and everything pales in comparison. Does your faith reflect this about God? Can others look at your life and see God’s heart, alive and unrivaled, in you?
Though we may claim God as the one and only God with our mouths, we have to give up things and people who try to steal His throne in our lives. Please God, we need Your strength and power to remove idols from Your rightful place in our lives, the head of all and contended by none. Besides You there is no way for me to conquer sin and besides You there is no good in the world. I want Your goodness to move into my heart and push out everything that tries to measure up with Your measureless love.
