Read: Micah 3:5-8, James 5:19-20

SOAP: Micah 3:8

“But as for me, I am filled with power, with the Spirit of the Lord, and with justice and might, to declare to Jacob his transgression and to Israel his sin.” Micah 3:8

We saw yesterday the rebuke to the authorities and today we see the rebuke to the false prophets. These false prophets didn´t talk God´s words, but their own. They said what the people wanted to hear. Therefore, they would be disgraced and put to shame.

Micah, on the other hand, was telling the people all the things they didn´t want to hear about: sin, judgment, consequences, hardships. But his words had power because they came from God. That was the message God had for His people.

Many of our churches today do not talk about sin anymore. Many Christians don´t do it either. It seems like we don´t want to make others uncomfortable. And we forget that the world today needs Jesus and that in order to be saved, we need to talk about sin and judgment and consequences as Micah did. In Romans 1:16 Paul says that he is not ashamed of the gospel for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes. Paul and Micah knew only the Gospel has power. Let´s remember that today and be bold to share God´s Word with those who don´t know Jesus and to bring back those who have wandered from the truth of God.

Dear Father, help me speak Your Truth regardless what others may think about me. Help me be bold and tell others about Jesus and the abundant life we have in Him. In Jesus name, amen.
