Read: Daniel 10:1; Daniel 10:5-19; Psalm 116:12-15

SOAP: Daniel 10:11-12

“He said to me, “Daniel, you are of great value. Understand the words that I am about to speak to you. So stand up, for I have now been sent to you.” When he said this to me, I stood up shaking. Then he said to me, “Don’t be afraid, Daniel, for from the very first day you applied your mind to understand and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard. I have come in response to your words.”

Into the Text

Daniel had another vision. It terrified him so much that he fell flat on his face, unable to move. Those who were with Daniel were so terrified they ran off – even though they didn’t even see the vision!

However, the vision also gave Daniel great insight concerning the end days. He was able to see that it wasn’t out of control. God had a plan and was totally in charge of all the days of time even when things weren’t going the way Daniel might like them to.

God spoke words of love and comfort to Daniel. Throughout his life, Daniel had displayed an attitude of humility. Why? Daniel remained focused on God. He relied on God many times, during smaller and bigger trials. He had known the kindness of the Lord. Daniel sought to repay the Lord’s kindness by living faithfully. Daniel made wise choices by regularly spending time talking with God in prayer and reading His Word. Now God was answering his prayers in ways Daniel couldn’t have foreseen.

Have you ever considered the truth that the Lord values you? He knows your trials and sees your faithfulness. He values and loves you because you are His precious daughter, bought by Him at a very high price.

The Lord hears your prayers. His ear is attentive to you. Over the next week, spend some time talking with God. Humbly bring your whole life before Him as well as those regularly in it. Ask for His will to be done in your life. Remember that God often answers our prayers in ways we cannot imagine.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, help me to be faithful. You see not only my actions but the attitudes of my heart. I am amazed and truly humbled that the God who created and sustains the universe and everything in it, loves, values, and listens to my prayers. Thank you, Lord. Amen.
