Colossians 3:12-14
12 Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering; 13 bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do. 14 But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection.
SOAP – Colossians 3:13
Those who love God and are called by Him will develop hearts like His. Christians are to be different. We are called to be light in this fallen world reflecting God’s love and compassion for people. We glorify God when we mirror His attributes. Forgiveness is the foundation of our reconciliation with God. Therefore, we are called to forgive others.
In what situation are you struggling to love as God loves? A Christian’s obedience to God will require some difficult actions. However, a Christian must strive to represent and reflect the love of God despite her own personal feelings. We must fight to share God’s love and His truth even to those we may not like.
Father God, I thank You for the forgiveness that You have given me. Give me a heart for Your people. Help me to demonstrate Your love in action, even in the lives of those who are difficult to love. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
