Read: Esther 9:23-10:3

SOAP: Esther 10:3

Esther 10:3 For Mordecai the Jew was second in rank to King Ahasuerus, and he was great among the Jews and popular with the multitude of his brothers, for he sought the welfare of his people and spoke peace to all his people.

Mordecai and Haman are foil characters in the story of Esther.  Mordecai worked for the good of his people and spoke up for the welfare of all the Jews. He was honored for doing that. He became great among the people. Haman sought after such honor and didn’t care what he had to do to get it, yet in the end was dishonored. Mordecai humbly worked on behalf of God’s people and he is the one who received the honor in the end.

Where do you need to work on behalf of God’s people? Where do you need to work for the good of believers and to speak up for the welfare of people? May we humbly seek the best for our fellow believers and serve without hesitation.

Dear God,

Thank you for how You work for the good of Your people. Thank You for the book of Esther and how You remind us through this book that You are always with us and working in and through our lives. May we never forget the powerful lessons we have learned through this study. Like Esther, may we live our lives to advance Your kingdom and Your will through our lives! Amen.
