Read: Esther 4:12-14
SOAP: Esther 4:14
Esther 4:14 For if you keep silent at this time, relief and deliverance will rise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish. And who knows whether you have not come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”
God’s hand and providence are beautifully and powerfully woven through this gripping story, seen especially in today’s verses. Esther has a decision to make: she can remain silent, and God would still preserve His people in His way and time, or she could use the position of influence God had given her.
The well-known words in verse 14 from today’s reading present the inspiring challenge we can all apply to our lives: “And who knows but that you have come to royal position for such a time as this?” Friend, where does God have you, for such a time as this? Who is in your sphere of influence? What physical location does He have you in where you could make a difference? What circumstances are you currently going through that could be a platform to display God’s power, for such a time as this?
The timing may never be ideal, the resistance may seem monumental, and the courage needed may be great, but when God calls, you can be sure that God equips His people. May we stand up today and say, “Yes, God, I’ll take that step of faith. Boldly use me here and now to make a difference, for such a time as this.”
Dear God,
Help me to be bold like Esther. Place me in areas of influence to be a spokesperson for You. Help me to respond not with fear but instead with faith. Powerfully use me to further Your kingdom or protect Your people. Amen.
