SOAP – Philippians 1:6

For I am sure of this very thing, that the one] who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.

Some of us are not very good at finishing what we’ve started. That’s why this is one of the most comforting verses in the entire Bible for believers. Our salvation does not depend on us. It does not depend on our ability to hold on, buckle down, or persevere until the end of our lives. The Lord will see to it that we are sanctified in spite of our failures and shortcomings. Salvation is God’s work, not ours.

Don’t get me wrong we do have a part to play in choosing to walk in His ways. We will give account for how we live. Our sanctification today and our eternity tomorrow is His part. He’s the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End. He’s the game finisher. Amen!

Lord, thank You for Your promise to keep working in me until return of Christ Jesus. I praise You that can trust in You completely to finish the work You started in me. Amen.
