SOAP – Romans 10:17

Consequently, faith comes from what is heard, and what is heard comes through the preached word of Christ.

Do you remember who first shared the truth of the gospel with you? The truth is we all heard it from someone. In Romans Paul explains our responsibility to believe in Jesus. Then he explains the responsibility of the believer to tell others, the lost, the truth about Jesus.

I know there are millions around the world who have never heard the truth of how Jesus can save us from our sin and give us an eternal hope. The truth embodied in this verse changed the course of my life. I don’t want others to miss it. Faith comes from hearing the message and someone has to go and share the message. Who can you talk to about Jesus today? Your neighbour, your co-worker, the barista at Starbucks? Maybe they even go to church, but they’ve never heard the truth.

Jesus, thank You that You have entrusted us fragile, fearful humans with the greatest message on earth. Your truth has shone into our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. Help us to take this message to those who have not yet heard. Amen.
