SOAP – Colossians 1:15-16

He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation,
for all things in heaven and on earth were created by him—all things, whether visible or invisible, whether thrones or dominions, whether principalities or powers—all things were created through him and for him.

In Him. Through Him. For Him. In these few short verses Paul makes us acutely aware of Christ’s supremacy in all things.

They are building a new school down the road from our house. Several steps are involved in the construction of a large building. First, an architect is hired to design the building and prepare plans, then the plans are submitted for bids by contractors. When it is completed, it is occupied by the owner and used in accordance with the intended plans. Our Lord is not only the builder of the universe, He is also its architect and owner. All things have been created in Him, by Him, and for Him!

Jesus, thank You for being the visible image of the invisible God. You are mighty in power and majestic in glory. We worship You because You are over above all things. Your sovereignty over all of creation and over powers and dominions is our resting place. Amen.
