Ephesians 4:29-32 English Standard Version (ESV)

29 Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear. 30 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. 31 Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. 32 Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.

SOAP: Ephesians 4:29-32

Friends extend grace to one another. In view of how much God has forgiven us, we are called to encourage one another and respond kindly.

Are you harboring a grudge right now? The enemy loves to make us mad at each other.  Don’t let him gain a foothold in your heart. We aren’t called to merely endure one another or just be outwardly polite. God wants us to freely and fully forgive the undeserving – just as He does. He asks us to view each other with eyes of compassion, not criticism. Choosing forgiveness will set you free.

Lord, thank You for forgiving us of every single sin when we did nothing to deserve Your compassion. Help us to lay down our grudges and pick up forgiveness. May we respond to each other with grace. Amen.
