Week 1 Day 3

Wednesday– Brave to do good

READ: Galatians 6:9; Ephesians 2:10; Psalm 34:8

SOAP: Psalm 34:8

“Taste and see that the Lord is good. Oh, the joys of those who take refuge in him!” – Psalm 34:8

When I read the word “refuge,” I picture a place with a covering, like a shelter or an awning, protecting me from a storm. It’s a great visual for what God is to us: a safe place, protector, covering. But in this verse, there’s something more… “Taste and see that the Lord is good,” tells me that when I take refuge in the Lord, I’m able to experience His goodness on a deeper level. My senses (taste, see) are awakened to His goodness, and what a joy that is! So, not only am I protected, safe, and covered, I’m also so close to the Father that I can taste and see that He is good. That brings my heart so much joy! Taking refuge in the Lord is living a life of closeness to God and a life of abundant joy.

Father, thank You for being my refuge. God, I’m so thankful that when I’m close under Your covering, my senses are heightened and I’m filled with supernatural joy. Thank You, Lord, for Your constant goodness. Help me live a life that takes refuge in You. Amen.
