Isaiah 40:28-31  28 Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the Lord, The Creator of the ends of the earth, Neither faints nor is weary. His understanding is unsearchable.

29 He gives power to the weak, And to those who have no might He increases strength. 30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, And the young men shall utterly fall, 31 But those who wait on the Lord

Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.

SOAP – Isaiah 40:28-31

Isaiah shares these words of encouragement to the nation of Israel as they struggle to follow God. Believers can cling to these promises as well.  Commitment to following God can be very humbling and exhausting. God calls His people to persevere in the faith relying on His power, His strength, and His might – not our own.

Where are you experiencing weariness in your commitment to God? Keeping God first in our lives may seem challenging, but God promises His strength and power to help us endure and persevere.

Father God, I thank You for Your power and Your strength which helps me to remain committed to You.  When I am tempted to give up, remind me that I shouldn’t rely on my might or my will, but only on Your Spirit. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
