And he came and preached peace to you who were far off and peace to those who were near.
Into the Text
The peace that Jesus offers is for everyone, those who are near and those who are far from Him. It is a peace that is not just for a select few but for all who put their faith in Jesus. This peace is given regardless of our past mistakes, our present circumstances, or our future decisions. We can all experience the peace that comes from being in a personal relationship with God, fully reconciled with Him.
God’s peace is able to transcend all understanding and fill our hearts, even in the midst of chaos and turmoil. It is God’s peace that we all need. So be encouraged, sweet friend, when you face challenges or feel overwhelmed: You are not alone, even as a spiritual battle rages all around you! Hold on to the peace of God that He graciously provides, and trust in His love and care for you.
As you experience His peace, share it with others, knowing that it is a message of hope and a glimpse of the love of God. He has equipped you with just the right shoes for this journey. Use them to help others experience the peace that only God can give, the only peace that can calm the storms of life that we all experience.
Prayer
Dear Lord Jesus, thank You for giving Your peace to everyone who cries out to You. Thank You for entering into our storms of anxiety, fear, and pain. Calm our hearts and minds with Your peace, and help us share Your peace with those around us.
