7 for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.
SOAP
We all struggle with it: fear. Our immediate future of unknowns, what-ifs, and “I pray that never happens to me…” can keep us up at night and paralyze us from really living. Over and over again in the Bible, we are told not to fear. Why? Because God is with us and He knows our future. Instead of allowing fear to steal our joy, our power, and our love, remember the amazing gifts God has so graciously given us: that of power, love, and self-control. The next time you struggle with fear, remember what you have been given by your heavenly Father.
Dear Jesus,
Thank You for the gifts of Your power, love, and self-control. Help me to utilize them in my life and not live in my strength. On the days that I struggle with fear, help me to remember that You are with me, that Your love for me reaches to the heavens, and my life is in Your hands. Amen.
