Read: 1 Thessalonians 2:9-16
SOAP: 1 Thessalonians 2:12-13 “We exhorted each one of you and encouraged you and charged you to walk in a manner worthy of God, who calls you into his own kingdom and glory. And we also thank God constantly for this, that when you received the word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as the word of men but as what it really is, the word of God, which is at work in you believers.”
Paul was passionate about proclaiming the Gospel for one purpose: he wanted to reproduce disciples surrendered to Christ who received the Scriptures and fully obeyed its principles. He challenged the believers in Thessalonica to “walk worthy” of their glorious God and King. He led by example and lived a holy life wholly devoted to sharing Christ with others.
How’s your walk? Can others witness your hard work for God’s kingdom? Are you encouraging others to follow Christ by living an exemplary life yielded to His kingdom purposes? Ask God to help you live more like Jesus today so that people seeking truth will look at your life and want to imitate your transformed walk.
Abba Father, thank You for welcoming me into Your family and calling me to witness to the world about Your salvation. Help me to walk worthy so that all my ways will please You. Help me point others toward the hope of heaven found in Christ. Amen
