“Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign. Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.” Isaiah 7:14
Since sin entered the world, we have been in desperate need of a Messiah. There was nothing we were able to do by ourselves to be saved. The blood of the animal sacrifices performed in the Old Testament only covered the sin.
We needed the Perfect Lamb, the Savior, the Messiah to shed His blood to take our sins away completely.
There is so much love in today´s verses! Isaiah knew what it was like to warn and instruct God’s people; but the Lord also wanted His people to receive His comfort. God´s command for Isaiah was to comfort His people. He speaks tender, loving words, words that announce that the iniquities are pardoned, that they don´t have to fight anymore to be clean. The people were about to face the Assyrians taking them to captivity and they needed all the comfort God could provide.
The virgin would conceive and bear a child. The Savior would be born. The sin would be forgiven. My eyes fill with tears when I read these verses. When I look back to my life without Jesus, I can´t believe God decided to love me. I can´t believe Jesus died for someone like me, that He bore my many sins. I didn´t deserve it. And yet, the Messiah would be born to give me – and you! – life.
Dear God, You loved me so much that You sent Your only Son to pay the price of my sin. My heart is full of praise of gratitude. My mind is blown away when I see how Jesus fulfilled the prophecies told to the people so many years before He was born. Thank You for saving my soul and for giving me faith through Your mighty Word. Amen.

Forgive me Father, when I don’t see that it was all You who came after me and not me after You. Forgive me Father, when I don’t see every human with that same dying worth.
Connie,
Thank you for being with us today and sharing on the blog. I, too, felt the same when reading today. Jesus sought us and died for us so we can spend eternity with Him. What a blessing this is! God Bless You.
Thank you Lord for your plan to save. You knew us long before we ever knew you. You pursued us and saved us. Thank you!
Kristen,
Thank you for joining us today! Our Heavenly Father sought a relationship with us long before we sought one with Him. Praise God for His many blessings! God Bless you!
One of my favorite verses is Romans 5:8 “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners Christ died for us”

Thank you for this sweet reminder! I have been through a season of guilt and shame recently and this reminder that the Savior died for me and loves me even when I make mistakes and stray from His plan. God has used this season in my life to show me how faithful He is and how unwavering His love for me is. Thank you Father for the gift of your Son and the freedom that gift washes even our greatest failures and shortcomings. To God by all the Glory
Paula,
Thank you for joining us today and sharing your heart on the blog! The enemy uses shame and guilt to try and place a wedge between us and God. But Jesus paid the ultimate sacrifice for our sins so we could have eternal life with Him. Being human, we will fall and stray from Him but He is just a prayer away. God Bless You!
I praise You Lord — that according to the prophecy in Is 25:9 the people acknowledged their God and waited for Him to Save them and they would be glad and rejoice in His Salvation — and i do not have to wait- Jesus is my Salvation Now and I rejoice that He was born and that He died for all my sins and i am forgiven. Amen
Thank you to each of you for commmenting. I love to read about others and their love for their savior! He is my Lord and the keeper of my heart. I praise him that he saved my soul a sinner. He knew me yet he loved me!
