Working as a cruise and tour director, I have a different lifestyle and timetable than many of my friends. I am in a different place every day, with no weekends or holidays. This makes it very difficult to have a regular routine. There is one routine I never give up, regardless of where I am: my time with God.
If I need to be in the help desk of a hotel waiting to go out for a tour or cruise, I set my alarm one hour before getting ready. By doing so, I can place my day in the hands of the Almighty God and ask Him, “How should I live today?”
When I found Love God Greatly, a community of women with online Bible studies in more than 30 languages, I thought, “Wow, this is exactly what I need!” I joined the Bible studies and got involved with the online community. I have been blessed by the journals, social media, and applications I can use everywhere to share hope with others.
I once asked God how I could serve Him, and I know that wherever we are there is a way to honor Him with our life. It can be our money giving a journal to someone, our time sharing a coffee, or sending a verse to remind others who our God is: “The Lord rules forever, praise God, O Zion, throughout the generations to come. Praise the Lord!” (Psalm 146:10).
My secret for happiness is this: I begin my days in God’s presence, bringing to my mind all the hope He gives. I focus on Jesus and His resurrection, coming to earth to pay for our sins and invite everyone to live eternally in His presence. What a precious gift, what a beautiful sight! All heaven and earth will pass away, but His Word is eternal!
