“Vanity of Vanities… all is vanity…” So begins and ends one of the most difficult and challenging books of the Bible. At first glance, this book can seem like a depressing read. It emphasizes the emptiness of life and the vanity of so many good things we experience in the world. But a careful reading will show you that the full message is God-exalting and joy-inducing.

In this eight-week Online Ecclesiastes Bible Study at Love God Greatly, our questions regarding the meaning of life will lead us to Solomon’s wise conclusion: that in order for one to find meaning, purpose, and satisfaction in life, he or she must know God. To know the Lord, to love Him, fear Him, follow Him, and find our identity in Him is what frees us to enjoy the temporal gifts in this life and to look beyond those gifts to life everlasting.

The Folly Of Laziness

Solomon was truly a remarkable man. In 2 Chronicles 1 God basically gives Solomon one wish. He can ask for anything at all, and the Lord would give it to him.  Many of us might have asked for wealth or health or maybe an easy life, but Solomon’s response is different....

Eat, Drink & Be Merry…

There is a vanity that takes place on earth, that there are righteous people to whom it happens according to the deeds of the wicked, and there are wicked people to whom it happens according to the deeds of the righteous. I said that this also is vanity. And I commend...
