Iman Di Dalam Allah Yang Setia

Saya bersyukur untuk teknologi masa kini. Kelompok kami di Krakow, Polandia masih dapat melakukan pendalaman Alkitab bersama secara online. Kami baru saja menyelesaikan pembelajaran dari kitab Habakuk.

Nabi Habakuk mempertanyakan pekerjaan Allah; dia meratap dan bertanya mengapa Allah tidak mengambil tindakan di masa-masa ketidakadilan. Jawaban yang diterima oleh Habakuk dari Allah itu tidak menjawab semua pertanyaannya, tetapi mengajarkannya (dan umat Allah) untuk menaruh harapan kepada-Nya dan menunggu dengan penuh keyakinan akan pemenuhan janji Allah yang tidak akan pernah gagal itu. Meskipun jalan-jalan Allah itu tidak dapat dimengerti (Roma 11:33), tapi tujuan-tujuannya tidak pernah berubah.

Tak seorangpun mengetahui apa yang akan terjadi besok, tetapi kita tahu Allah kita tahu, dan kita dapat memiliki harapan dan kekuatan di dalam karakter-Nya. Kita tahu Allah itu baik, kudus, benar, dan setia dan juga Ia berkuasa di surga dan di bumi. Pikirkanlah kebesaran-Nya sesaat: tidak ada satupun yang dapat mengejutkan bagi-Nya. Apapun yang Allah sedang kerjakan saat ini, itu selalu yang terbaik bagi umat-Nya, meskipun itu berarti penderitaan. (Roma 8:28)

Di dalam masa pergumulan ini, saya bersyukur bisa mendekat kepada Allah dan merenungkan kepribadian-Nya. Apa yang saya pelajari dari kitab Habakuk adalah bahwa pengharapan kita tidak berdasarkan apa yang terjadi dalam hidup kita atau apa yang ada pada hidup kita. Pengharapan kita adalah di dalam Tuhan dan Juru Selamat kita. Kita tahu siapa Allah itu dan apa yang telah Ia kerjakan lewat kehidupan Yesus Kristus. Iman kita bukanlah hal-hal atau benda-benda dalam hidup ii; iman kita adalah Allah yang setia.

Kebesaran Tuhan di dalam sejarah telah mengubahkan keluhan Habakuk menjadi nyanyian suka cita. Habakuk bersuka cita di dalam Tuhan, Allah yang memberikannya keselamatan dan kekuatan. Hari ini, semoga ini menjadi satu pengingat bagi kita bahwa dengan iman kita melihat melampai diri kita sendiri kepada Kristus. Semoga ini dapat memenuhi hati kita dengan suka cita di dalam kepastian dan kesetiaan Allah dalam janji-janji-Nya.

Inilah hari yang dijadikan Tuhan, marilah kita bersorak-sorak dan bersukacita karenanya! Tetaplah berhubungan dengan teman-teman dan keluarga Anda, lakukan telepon video dengan teman kerja untuk minum kopi bersama, terus melakukan pendalaman Alkitab bersama secara online. Tinggallah di dalam firman Tuhan. Lihatlah kepada Yesus. Ia-lah satu-satunya pengharapan dan hidup.
