“Draw near to God and he will draw near to you.”
What a promise! Not only does God promise to reveal Himself to us when we seek Him, but He also promises to move toward us and pursue us.
For the next six weeks, our goal is to do precisely that: draw near to God. Not only that, but we hope to discover tools and methods along the way that will help us continue to draw near to God throughout our lives.
God’s Word is a deep mine, full of treasures and priceless jewels. No matter how long we study it, how familiar we are with it, or how many times we have read it, the mine is never empty. God’s Word is always teaching us, always instructing us, and always encouraging us, but we need to know where to look.
Through this study, we will examine Psalm 19, learning about the qualities of God’s Word. We will study many additional passages to help us understand how God uses His Word in our lives and how His Word transforms us. With Psalm 19 as our anchor, we will glean new insights about the value and importance of studying God’s Word.
Each week, you will come back to the verses of Psalm 19 several times. Not only will you memorize a section of Psalm 19, but you will also read over the verses frequently. God’s Word is not meant only to be read once, and the more we review it, the more we learn from it.
That’s not all! In our Monday, Wednesday, Friday blog posts, you will find detailed instructions on how to study God’s Word. We will take a deep dive into the SOAP Method, learning together how to observe God’s Word and apply it effectively to our lives.
While Scripture is living and active, it takes discipline and commitment to understand it. As we embark on this journey together, let’s commit to making the intentional study of God’s Word a priority in our lives.
Time spent in God’s Word is never wasted.
