Out with the Old, in with the New
Read: 2 Corinthians 5:17

So then, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; what is old has passed away—look, what is new has come!
Do you look at your shame and think you will never overcome it? It can feel like the things we struggle with will always have the upper hand. While we will never be perfect in this life, we are more than capable of overcoming our shame because we have been made new.
The old you, the one who loved sin and hated God is no longer there. You have been given a new heart: a heart that is frustrated with sin, a heart that loves God, and a heart that desires to be more like Christ. When we place our faith in Christ, God removes our old selves and replaces it with His righteousness. While we will continue to fall short of His holiness, He continues to redeem us and walk with us, continually making us into a new creation.
Our salvation is beyond amazing. Jesus truly does it all! He forgives us, He gives us a new heart, He changes us, He loves us when we fail, He is patient with us, He protects us, and He comforts us. He is an amazing Savior. He is our Shame Breaker.
Lord, You have given me everything I need for life and godliness. Help me remember that You are there to help, teach, guide, provide, forgive, love, and comfort so I can grow in holiness. Help me to see change in my life through Your power. In Jesus’ name, amen.
