“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth” – Genesis 1:1
Nothing is a surprise to God. From the beginning He planned to create life on earth. From the beginning He created humans in His image. From the beginning He desired to have a relationship with each of us. And from the beginning, He had a plan for our redemption.
What happened when God was creating the earth in all its details? What does it mean to be created in the image of God? What happened in the garden when Adam and Eve first sinned? Why did God allow Adam and Eve access to the forbidden fruit in the first place? Did the flood really cover the entire earth? Why are there so many genealogies recorded in Genesis? What happened at the tower of Babel?
In the Beginning is a six-week Bible study on Genesis 1–11. This study will explore the creation story, the origins of humanity, the impact of sin on the world, the immediate promise of redemption, the reasons for the flood, God’s provision for Noah and his family, God’s first covenant with humanity, and the genealogy of the Messiah.
Though deep study of God’s Word often creates more questions than answers, In the Beginning takes an unapologetic dive into challenging theological concepts and questions that we all face in our faith. As we study the way God created and interacted with humanity in the beginning, we can learn a great deal about the way He works in our lives and world today.

Looking forward to our next study. I love that LGG creates such excellent materials not only for us but the “kids version.” Though the kid version is geared for ages 5-11, it has provided a great venue for my artistic teen who has joined me in the past few studies. With an extra journaling room, she can add art to her daily SOAPs, which help her visualize God’s Word. I love being able to encourage her faith-walk. Take advantage of these beautiful resources, whether the traditional journals or the kids..
That is so good to hear, Merari! Awesome idea to use the kids journal for her artistic side!
This looks like a wonderful study! I look forward to diving deep into The Beginning.. I do wonder if you have a study of Revelations. This is something I have a deep desire to study.
