In that day you will say:
“Give praise to the Lord, proclaim his name;
make known among the nations what he has done,
and proclaim that his name is exalted.
Sing to the Lord, for he has done glorious things;
let this be known to all the world.
Shout aloud and sing for joy, people of Zion,
for great is the Holy One of Israel among you.”
She handed me the card to activate the voting machine and before I even knew what was happening, quick tears came out of nowhere and snuck out of the corners of my eyes.
That poor, sweet poll worker. I really am ok, I promise.
Right in the middle of that quiet poll center – in that sterile room filled with machines lined up perfectly in a row and a crowd full of silent people with the weight of the world written all over their faces – I wanted to tell her everything that was on my heart. I wanted her to know that these were not tears of anxiousness or fear. Oh, no. In a rather sudden wave of emotions (that surprised even me), these were tears of overwhelming gratitude and hope; tears that held a greater message that I long for this nation – the world – to hear.
I made my way to an open machine and slid the activation card into the designated slot. But before I could bring my finger to touch the screen, I had something to say and it couldn’t wait any longer. And so I bowed my head right then and there and silently let it all come spilling out as the tears flowed…
Thank you, Father.
I know You see it all. Every word spoken. Every promise given.
But You…
You are the Word spoken. You are the Promise given.
I know You hear it all. Every opinion stated. Every option presented.
But You…
You are the Truth that remains. You are the only Way.
You knew the world would reject You, but still You came and dwelt among us. How can we not bow in complete reverence, awe, and worship to the One who sent a Rescuer long before we even knew the full scope of how desperately we would need to be rescued?
I know You control it all. Every king that rises. Every sparrow that falls.
But You…
You are the King of glory. You are Grace to the needy.
Oh thank you, Father.
For rescuing this sinner. For sovereignly working out Your best plan even when we can’t see.
You are my King, and my full trust and confidence is in You…
For those of us who live in America, we wake up today with the news of a new President-elect who will lead our nation for the next four years. And for those of us who have been forever changed by the King of glory – this hope as an anchor for our souls – we have the most incredible opportunity to love and shine like never before.
So what words will you say today?
Will you speak of worry and despair?
Or with gratitude as the overflow of your heart, will you say that we can trust in this hope? Claim victory in this hope. Be satisfied in this hope. With love, compassion, kindness, and thankfulness on our lips, we can proclaim the hope of Jesus with fresh confidence and zeal to the world around us.
“We ought not to worship God in a half-hearted sort of way; as if it were now our duty to bless God, but we felt it to be a weary business, and we would get it through as quickly as we could, and have done with it; and the sooner the better. No, no; ‘All that is within me, bless his holy name.‘ Come, my heart, wake up, and summon all the powers which wait upon thee! Mechanical worship is easy, but worthless. Come rouse yourself, my brother! Rouse thyself, O my own soul!” – Spurgeon
Today we bless His name. Not in some half-hearted effort, but with all that is within us!
Speak words of love.
Speak words of truth.
Speak words of hope.
Speak words of life.
And show the world your heart that is full of peace and moved with deep gratitude because He is your rock and your salvation, and you cannot be shaken.
At His feet,

Thank you for your words of wisdom and encouragement today. This is my personal challenge today.
That’s awesome, Paula! I think moving forward each day with a heart full of hope and gratitude could be contagious and the best thing to spread each day! God is so good❤??❤
Paula, yes they are excellent words to challenge us today!! Words that have hope, love, life, and most of all truth!! Amen!!
Amen Whitney!! Words for every morning. Every morning’s a new day, mercies are new today and every morning and the will endure forever, just as God’s love will! Lord I declare Your glory and I exalt Your holy, sovereign, powerful, and unchanging name to all the Earth. You are God!!!
Thank you ,,, you said just what i needed to hear today.. speak words of hope and truth!! God is good every day!!
Deb, God is good everyday, in every way, and always. We are so blessed to have His Wird and remember He is in control.
Thanking God for all of His blessings on my life and our country today! We serve an awesome God!
Just to know that we are held by His love puts anything man can do in a different light! He KNEW who would be elected! He KNEW what we needed as a country. He KNEW what we needed as individuals even though some will argue that point! Our rest, our peace, our joy does not live in what a human can do for us! No! We have the Awesome Creator and Sustainer of all things as our loving Father! We need nothing more! In the midst of the world’s turmoil, I offer the sacrifice of PRAISE and THANKSGIVING from the bottom of my heart to my All in All, to Elohim Machase Lanu: God Our Refuge. So, “Trust in Him at all times, O people; pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge for us. Selah” Psalm 62:8 ESV You are Elohei Tehillati: God of my praise. “Be not silent, O God of my praise!” Psalm 109:1 ESV, ever seeing, ever hearing, ever helping Your precious children! I praise You with a grateful heart! Amen and Amen for Jesus’ sake! ?❤️
Perfectly said & a great reminder of our hope in God & our mission to share His Love with others. So very grateful for the freedom of grace given by a loving Father.
Thanks Whitney for your words today! I had a bad moment today and snapped at someone who I shouldn’t have. As I sat there I heard Jesus speaking to me to give thanks and be happy. Luckily I was able to apologize and hopefully bring joy to thE same person I snapped at. I thank the women of LGG for keeping my eyes on Jesus, and all I have to be thankful for
Thank you Aimee Mae for doing this!
